The School of International Relations, abbreviated as ESRI, is a higher education institution specialized in teaching and learning, research, outreach and community services in the field of international relations.
ESRI is an academic unit of Joaquim Chissano University (UJC), a public higher education institution created through the merger of the Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI) and the Higher Institute of Public Administration (ISAP), whose statutes were approved by Decree No. 85/2018 of December 26.
During the establishment of academic units, under articles 25 and 46 of the Statutes, the University Council approved the creation of the School of International Relations through Resolution No. 1/CU-UJC/2019 of June 14.

ESRI’s mission is to contribute to the development of Mozambique through scientific knowledge in the field of International Relations and Diplomacy.

The Mozambican Journal of International Studies (RMEI) is a scientific journal of the School of International Relations at Joaquim Chissano University. It aims to disseminate academic content on international phenomena from a Mozambican perspective. The journal brings together lecturers, researchers, students and professionals from various fields and aspires to become a national and international reference in its area. RMEI promotes a permanent space for discussion and publication of work related to International Relations, International Politics, International Economic Relations, Foreign Policy, Strategic Studies, Defence and Security, Political Science and other areas of international life, while encouraging research groups and exchange with academic and social actors at national, regional and international level.
