About the Diplomatic School

The Diplomatic School is a professional training academic unit of Joaquim Chissano University (UJC), focused on diplomacy, international cooperation and related fields. Its regulation was established under article 26(1) of the UJC Statute, approved by Decree No. 85/2018 of December 26 by the Council of Ministers, and approved by the UJC University Council on August 2, 2019.

To develop training, cooperation and publication activities in the field of diplomacy.

Our Vision

To be a flexible, versatile and dynamic institution in multidimensional diplomatic training.

Our Principles

The Diplomatic School is guided by the legal and statutory principles of Joaquim Chissano University, namely:

• Democracy and respect for human rights.
• Equality, equity and non-discrimination.
• Freedom of cultural, artistic, scientific and technological creation.
• Participation in the economic, scientific, social and cultural development of the country, the region, the African continent and the world.

Our Objectives

The Diplomatic School pursues the following objectives:

• Train professionals capable of actively participating in Mozambican and global diplomacy, as well as in the development of the country and the world.
• Prepare candidates for entry into the diplomatic career.
• Develop trainees’ deontological awareness and professional pride.
• Carry out knowledge updating actions for staff, in line with scientific and technical progress and national needs in a context of periodic retraining.
• Develop public awareness of the role of diplomacy for national and universal objectives.
• Establish cooperation relations with national, regional and international institutions in pursuit of its vision and mission.
• Contribute to promoting a Mozambican diplomatic culture.
